Remote Learning

Please find attached all the information that you will need to ensure that your child can work from home should they have to self-isolate.  Teachers will be setting work for the week on Google Classroom.

The work that you can expect your child to have to complete throughout the week is listed in the tables below.

Pupil Expectation

Staff can expect pupils who are learning remotely to:

  • Complete work set by the Class Teachers and return that work via email for marking. Pupils must then act on the feedback given and improve their work where necessary. However, there is no expectation that pupils will remain in front of a device for the whole of the normal school day.
  • Contact the Class Teacher or Teaching Assistant to ask for further support if they are unsure of how to complete the work set.

Parent Expectations

Staff can expect parents with children learning remotely to:

  • Make the school aware if their child is too sick to complete their work
  • Contact Class Teachers to seek help and request further support if required
  • Provide their child with access to the internet and a device to complete school work

SEND

We recognise that some children with SEND needs may not be able to access remote learning without high levels of adult support. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families and we will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways.

For those children with EHCP’s who are working remotely, we will ensure, where possible, the provision set out in their plan is provided. The SENDCo will make regular contact with the families and they are encouraged to contact school if further support is required. For other children with SEND needs the class teachers will set work appropriate to their needs.

Students with SEND will be supported on an individual basis based on their need, it is likely that the support they will receive will be one of the strategies listed:

  • Additional lesson support drop-ins
  • 1:1 support with a teacher/TA
  • Differentiated work provided
  • Paper packs of work available if required
  • Parental support- member of staff liaises with parent regarding strategies to use at home in order to support the student
  • Onsite teaching will continue to support students who cannot learn at home to attend school and learn in the ways they normally do
  • Contact with outside agencies will continue remotely where possible

Below is a list of subjects which will help support your child with their learning.  If they have completed their set work, there are also links to activities that they can choose for themselves and complete without being directed by their class teacher.
