News sheet 8th July 2022

Weather

The glorious hot weather looks set to stay with us for the next week or so. Please do make sure that your child has their water bottle with them every day and that you have applied sun screen to any exposed areas. Please also send your child to school with a cap (named!) if you have one.

Please feel free to send your child to school in their PE kit (white t shirt and Navy shorts) if you think they would feel cooler like this.

Mrs Hall

Mrs Hall starts her maternity leave today. We wish her all the very best and look forward to meeting Baby Hall very soon!

Mr Stacey will be working with 3/ 4 CH until the end of term. He is well known in the school and we are very pleased he has been able to join us.

Class photos

You will have now received a proof for your child’s class photograph. The orders go directly to Fraser’s photography this year, but please do ask in the office if we can help in any way.  The deadline for ordering is Monday, 11th July 2022.

Reports and new classes

Reports will be distributed on Tuesday next week. Your child will be given their report to hand to you, as parent or carer, when you collect them on Tuesday afternoon. If you are not able to collect the report on Tuesday, teachers will try throughout the following week. Any reports not collected by the end of Wednesday will be posted home on Friday 22nd July.

Queen Elizabeth Books

Your child will have brought home their own copy of ‘Queen Elizabeth’. These books have been issued to every child in the country as a memento of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We hope that your children enjoy these lovely books.

Heart of Hillbourne

The small team of parents who make up the Heart of Hillbourne are desperately seeking new support. This year, the team has done a marvellous job this year making money to help us buy play equipment and books. If you have some time and would like to help to support the school, please speak to Mrs Middleton in the office or let Ms Roderick or Mr Claxton know on the gate.

The children greatly enjoy the raffles, cake sales and ice cream events hosted by the team and it would be very sad if these could not continue!
