News sheet 21st April 2021
Welcome back to the Summer term!
We are very much hoping that school will now remain fully open until July 23rd!
Although it is still chilly, the sun is becoming stronger so please remember to send your children to school with a sunhat and full water bottle. Please also apply suntan lotion to any exposed skin on your child before sending them in each day.
Mr Tough will be moving to Blandford St Mary’s Primary School in September. We are glad that he will have a much shorter daily cycle but very sad to be losing a fabulous teacher!
A warm welcome to Mrs Belcher who will be working with our Reception and KS1 pupils at lunchtime!
As you may remember, Ofsted visited the school in March to inspect our provision for remote learning. We were very pleased with the positive feedback received from the team. The letter recording the outcome has now been published and a copy is attached to this message.
The letter will shortly be published onto the Ofsted website.
The building team have continued to make fantastic progress on our new school. As you will have seen, the doors and windows have now all been fitted. The room partitions inside the building are now being installed.
We are excited to now be planning the move into the new building over the October half term.
Our new value this term is ‘Responsibility’.
We will be talking to the children about our responsibilities for ourselves, our learning and our environment.
Please do encourage your children to take appropriate responsibilities around the home.
These could include:
Please let us know if your child demonstrates good responsibility at home so we can celebrate it in school.
Each class is looking forward to presenting their work to a wider audience this term. We are sorry that we can’t yet invite parents into school but will be sending home links so parents and friends can share the children’s performances. Please see list below for your child’s assembly.

Thank you for supporting your children to look so smart in their uniforms as we start this last term. It has been great to see some children in our new uniform. The student body made a good choice!
We are expecting ties to be available by half term.
Children should continue to come to school in their PE kits on days when they have PE or are attending a Sports Club. Please check class newsletters for information about your child’s PE days.
