20th July 2021

20th July 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the end of term hurtles towards us, I am writing with some last minute updates.

Covid Rules

Sadly, the changes in the legislation around Covid do not mean it is no longer a problem.

Please help us to ensure that no children and families start their holidays in self-isolation by continuing to follow the rules that have kept us open so far:

  • Wear a mask on school premises
  • Maintain your distance
  • Wash your hands regularly
  •

Hot weather

Children may wear shorts and t-shirts to school for the rest of term. Ideally, they should wear PE kit but the priority is that they are as cool as possible. Please apply sun screen to your child before school and ensure they have a full water bottle and a sun hat if possible.

Road Closure

Please note that Kitchener Crescent will be closed in front of the school next week for pipe work to be laid. There will be access to the residential houses but no through road.

Food support during the Summer holidays

Vouchers will be issued at the end of the week to all children entitled to Free School Meals. The value is slightly less than in previous holidays due to a reduction in the grant.

If you need support for food or utilities during the holiday, you can contact the Citizens Advice Bureau on 01202 081732 or via the contact form that can be found at www.citizensadvicebcp.org.uk/summersupport from August 1st.

School Reports

Please can you return any updated student detail forms and parental feedback before the end of term.

Last day of term

Pupils may wear their own clothes on Friday.

If you wish to donate old school uniform, please send in with your child. Heart of Hillbourne are organising recycling of uniform. Some will go to the rag bin and some to a school in Africa where few children have uniform.

As a reminder we finish at 1.45 pm on Friday.

Autumn Term 2021

School reopens on Monday, 6th September 2021 at 8.30 am.  We look forward to seeing the children in our new school uniform.  Those children who are currently Year 2-5 will be required to wear a school tie next year, which is available via the scopay app or either school office.

I hope that you all have an enjoyable and restful summer. We wish all those moving on the very best of luck.

Stay safe!

With best wishes

Yours sincerely

Helen Roderick
