News sheet 13th May 2022
Welcome back to the final half term of 2021-2. Where has the year gone!
Huge thanks and best wishes to Mrs Chapman who, after four years in our front office, has moved onto a more senior role in a local finance company. We will miss her calm and compassionate nature enormously.
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Louise Middleton to our office team. Mrs Middleton will be joining us officially from Monday 20th June. You may well already have spoken with Mrs Middleton or with Mrs Gloster as both are providing much needed support in the mornings.
Please label all your child’s uniform with their name so that clothes, particularly jumpers, can be returned to the right child. We have Sharpie pens in the office if you wish to borrow one to mark clothes and footwear.
As the weather starts to look like summer, please remember to send your child to school with a full water bottle and a cap to shade them at breaktimes.
Please apply suntan lotion to any exposed parts of your child before they come to school.
As the gorgeous weather looks set to continue, we plan to hold our Sports Day events on Wednesday 15th June. We will not be inviting parents to join us this year because of the on-going work on the school grounds. We do hope to be able to return fully to normal in 2023!
If possible, children should wear a t-shirt in the colour of their house,
We will be reminding the children of their houses today!
All children should come to school in PE kits on Wednesday.
Please also ensure that your child beings a full water bottle to school.
Huge thanks to Morgan Sindall, the construction company who built our school, for their very generous donation of £750 to help us keep our library stocked.
Heart of Hillbourne
Thank you to the Heart of Hillbourne team for organising the Jubilee event before the half term break. The cream teas were delicious and greatly enjoyed by parents and staff!
Huge thanks to all of you who submitted a cake entry to the competition. We were blown away by both the quantity and quality of entries. There were so many wonderful, creative and delicious looking cakes. Congratulations, however, to the Freemantle family who produced the most stunning Royal Crown cake.
Punctuality and Attendance
School starts at 8.45am. Please make sure that your child is ready to start their learning in their classroom by this time. If the school gate is closed, the bell has gone. Please take your child in through the front office so we can be sure that they are marked present.
If your child is unable to attend school for any reason, please make sure you have called the office on 01202 692604 and left a message detailing the reason for the absence. A reminder that we need to know a child’s symptoms, if they are off sick.
Secondary transfer (Year 5)
Parents of pupils in Year 5 will be sent information regarding application to secondary schools later this week. This will be sent electronically. Please ask in the office if you need a hard copy.
