10th March 2023

News sheet 10th March 2023

The Easter Holidays are rapidly approaching and I thought it would be good to keep you all updated of events that will be taking place in the final three weeks of the half term.

Meal Vouchers

We are pleased to confirm that BCP council are able to fund supermarket vouchers for the Easter Holiday period for those families who are eligible for free school meals.  Vouchers will be issued on Saturday, 1st April 2023.  The vouchers have a value of £15 per child per week.

If you are worried about food over the holidays, please contact Ms Rumble who will be able to provide you with details of local food banks.

Uniform

Please can all parents and carers ensure that their children are in correct school uniform. There have been a few examples recently where pupils have not come to school in the correct clothes. Also, a gentle reminder that pupils should not be wearing makeup, have painted nails or wear any jewellery, many thanks.

Forest School

It is the turn of 3RS to take part in their Forest School activities from next Tuesday. I am sure they will really enjoy the sessions. All the pupils who have taken part in these lessons so far this year have talked enthusiastically about them.

Multi-Sports Club – Holiday Fun

There was a letter sent out last week advertising our Easter Multi-sports Club that is being run by Kevin, our football club coach. There are places available for the second week of the holidays 11th-14th April. For further information, or to book a place, please contact Kevin.  UK Skills Forum on 07974205066 or email kevin.stacey@ukskllsforum.co.uk

Red Nose Day

We will be celebrating Red Nose Day next Friday- 17th March. We are asking that pupils come to school dressed as superheroes or all in red. Hair dye will be allowed on this occasion, as long as it is removed by the start of school on Monday. We are asking for a £1 donation towards this great cause. In school, Miss May will be organising a Talent Show, which will take place in the afternoon and be watched by the whole school! We are looking forward to seeing those brave pupils perform.

MCAS – Bromcom – ‘My Child At School’

You should have now received your invitation to sign up to our new app.  If you are having any problems logging in please make sure that you are using your user name and not your email on the login page.  Please do not use the app until after the 1st of April 2023.  We are very excited about updating our online payment system and communications. You will be able to book wraparound care, hot school meals and clubs via the app as well and purchasing water bottles and ties.  During the next few months we will be steadily rolling out all of the other modules and will keep you updated with the next stage.

Any monies outstanding on our current payment app (SCOPAY) will be transferred across to MCAS at the beginning of April.

If you have any queries please speak to the school office.
