What is the Cornerstones Curriculum?
The Cornerstones Curriculum is a creative and thematic approach to learning that is mapped to the 2014 Primary National Curriculum to ensure comprehensive coverage of the skills and knowledge expected. The curriculum is delivered through Imaginative Learning Projects which provides a rich menu of exciting and motivating learning activities that make creative links between all aspects of our children’s learning.
Subject depth and progression
Each of the Imaginative Learning Projects (topics) is carefully planned to cover the skills and knowledge required in the National Curriculum. Key concepts are learnt and built upon across each year group and across the school. The structure of the Cornerstones Curriculum ensures that pupils are able to revisit, and so embed, key knowledge and concepts.
Although links are made with all subjects, Literacy, Maths, RE, PHSE and PE are still taught as discrete sessions.
