One of our oldest school councillors has a place on the Children and Young Peoples Board.
This is to help the children of Poole to have a voice in the community and to give their opinions on improving Poole.
At Hillbourne we have an active School Council who have contributed lots to school life. At the moment they are raising money to fund a trip to the Houses of Parliament in July. If you have any odd change (1p and 2p) please send them in to help swell the coffers.
Hillbourne School Council
Up date on School Council activities.
The School Council are hoping to do a series of sponsored events.
The first one has taken place.
The sun shone as children took to their bikes and scooters and completed laps of the playground. The highest number of laps on a bike was 34 and 20 on a scooter. The children had great fun doing it. A special well done to the poor bike rider who suffered a broken chain. All money, that the children raise, will go towards their trip to London.
The second sponsored event has now taken place.
All sponsor money should be brought into school as soon as possible.
The children will be given a letter stating how much they owe for the trip. (Some children have already raised the amount and have spending money over!) The outstanding money for the trip needs to be in school before the 14th June so that train tickets can be purchased.
Houses of Parliament trip.
Date Monday 1st July
We have had a reply from 10 Downing street about having our photo taken outside number 10 and at the moment we can (so long as the relevant paperwork has been filled in).
I have spoken to 10 Downing Street and they have given us the time slot at 3.30 so watch this space for pictures of us standing outside number 10.
