My name is Jane Ryan, I am the Pastoral Care Worker at Hillbourne Primary and have over 20 years’ experience of working with children and their families in school.
My main role in school is to provide a listening ear and support to any child who may be finding it hard to cope either emotionally, socially or physically.
We want you child to enjoy their time here at Hillbourne and we understand that there are times when worries in school and at home can impact on happiness and well-being. By working alongside other professionals and Agencies we aim to provide wrap around care for our pupils and their families.
We believe that by providing a happy and safe environment for your children they can reach their full potential and make a positive contribution to school and community life.
I am based in The Willow Room, which is a warm and welcoming child friendly space. Pupils can see me for a wide range of reasons including, family break up, bereavement, anger management, friendships issues, low self-esteem amongst many other things. I run a young carers group every Monday afternoon and a breakfast nurture group Monday to Thursday.
I work in school every day and if you would like to pop in for a chat please asked at the school office or ring to make an appointment. I also run a coffee morning every Friday morning in the Willow Room from 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. Which is an opportunity to meet other parents and carers and open to everyone. No problem is too small so please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
