4th June 2019
Dear Parents and Friends
Welcome back to the final half term of the academic year and the end of the last year when Hillbourne will look as it currently does. We want people who attended Hillbourne to have the opportunity to visit the school before the redevelopment starts. There will be guided tours available during the Summer Fair on Saturday 29th June and we will also be welcoming visitors every morning in July between 9.30 and 10.30. Please do share this information with anyone who you think might be interested in visiting.
World Ocean Day
On Friday 7th June, we will be supporting an international initiative to raise awareness of the importance of our oceans and our impact upon them. We are asking all pupils and staff to wear blue and if possible to donate £1 to support environmental work in school.
Please see: https://www.worldoceansday.org/
The majority of children look really smart in their uniforms today. Thank you for your support.
A reminder please:
Please also remember to send your child with a full water bottle and a sun hat, should the weather turn seasonal again!
Change of uniform
As we approach the start of the work to build our new school, we are starting to consider other changes, starting with the school uniform. Over the next few weeks, we will be sending out a Survey Monkey questionnaire to gather parents’ views on what, if any changes, should take place. Please look out for your email invite and do respond so we can include as many views as possible.
Weather permitting, we are planning to hold our Sports Days next week. Please could you send your child to school in their PE kit on the appropriate day. Please could you make sure that your child is wearing full PE kit with, if at all possible, a t-shirt in their House colour.
Parents are warmly invited to join us to support the children, The Heart of Hillbourne will be providing refreshments at both events.
Reception and KS1: Tuesday 11th June at 1.30pm
KS2: Thursday 13th June at 1.45pm
All clubs are running this week. Clubs will end on Friday 12th July.
