25th February 2019

Dear Parents and Friends

I hope that you all enjoyed your half term break. It was great to see the children back in school today. Hopefully, you aren’t feeling the same way!

Parents Evening

It was great to see so many of you at our Parent Evenings in the last week before the holiday. I know that many of you were very proud of the work your children have been producing and they were rightly proud to show you.

If you have not yet been able to meet with your child’s teacher, please contact them directly or call the office on 01202 692604 to arrange a convenient time.

School Review

The School was visited by two Inspectors before the holidays. They spent the day observing lessons, looking at children’s work and speaking with children about their learning. The team were impressed with what they saw and have left us feeling confident that our next Ofsted visit should reflect the very hard work of all members of the school community over the last two years.

Anti-bullying policy

Thankyou for your feedback on our Anti-bullying policy. Please find the final version attached for your information.

It is also available on the Hillbourne website along with our other policy documents.

Uniform

Unfortunately, Tesco are no longer providing a uniform service. However, MyClothing.Com have now taken over and are able to provide our embroidered items, along with PE and book bags. Please use the link to set up your new account or go direct from our school website. https://myclothing.com/

Nut Allergies

Please can I remind all parents that we are a nut free zone within school. This includes all nut items such as Nutella and cereal/biscuit bars containing nuts. Your support in this is greatly appreciated.

World Book Day – Thursday, 7th March 2019

This year we are inviting children to dress as their favourite Roald Dahl character and take part in the whole school book swap. Further details will follow later this week.

Year 6 visit to Bovington Tank Museum

Year 6 visited the Tank Museum earlier in the month as part of their topic on World War 2. They had a great time. Please see pictures below.

Maths Day

We love Maths at Hillbourne and on the last Friday of term, had a full day of mathematically based activities in every class. Here are some pictures of our mathematicians, hard at work.

Yours sincerely

Helen Roderick
